i have this question too, unable to using "swipe to unlock"
You can get help with this issue using these suggestions http://osxdaily.com/2016/09/15/disable-press-home-to-unlock-ios/
Me too... I don't want to use the home button, I want the swipe screen back. Apart from anything else my iPad Air 1 home button isn't that reliable these days, how do I get in if it refuses to respond?

iOS 10 does not offer any swipe to unlock gesture. That functionality is no longer part of iOS and cannot be re-enailed or optionally configured. While there are options like the rest finger to unlock, there is no swipe to unlock.
this post does not solve the issues; rather it says "the said feature is now no more available in iOS 10"
i think we should forget the option of "swipe to unlock" till the time an update is given by the Iphone company
There's always the option of jailbreaking and going back to IOS 9...
try it and then tell me. its not that easy 😀
It does seem the higher the points, the less likely the answer is at all useful. At least this one was honest and topical, even if it doesn't solve the problem.
